Rene Beaudette, of Norwich in New London County, was hit around 5:25 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 655 East Main St. in Norwich, authorities said.

Paramedics rushed Beaudette to William W. Backus Hospital and later to Hartford Hospital, where he was in critical condition.

A GoFundMe to help pay for his medical expenses said he suffered a brain bleed, hematoma in his stomach, broken ribs, and will need facial reconstructive surgeries. The fundraiser hopes to raise $10,000, though the bills from the crash could be much higher.

His daughter Kimberly Beaudette is pleading with any witnesses to come forward to help police track down the vehicle that hit her father.

"If you have any decency in your heart please come forward," she posted on Facebook. "If this was your father, son, child, how would you feel?"

Norwich Police ask anyone who saw the crash or has any information on it to contact Sgt. Richard Cannata at RCannata@cityofnorwich.org or 860-886-5561 ext 3521.

Rene's family said he didn't deserve what happened to him, and they want justice.

"My father is a great person, hard working, caring," Kimberly wrote, "(He) would give you the shirt off his back."
